[it was on a sunless day]
ERIK FUHRER
that my body
sliced in two
there was a shudder
then deep
red moaning
even through the pain I heard your voice
sharp as a lemon in the throat
as if you were standing
on my tongue
and speaking straight into me
I could not make out what you were saying
but I knew that it was something beautiful
because that morning
you had kissed me
just above the lips
and your breath
had smelled
like lavender
